Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene — Nairobi certificate track

Learners practise qualitative and quantitative exposure assessment for chemical fumes, silica dusts, solvents, bio-aerosols, and heat stress proxies relevant to Kenyan industry clusters—from Athi River light manufacturing to cold-chain horticulture exporters.

Modules couple classroom theory with Hurlingham lab sessions on pumps, gravimetric calibration, ventilation sanity checks, and fit-testing QA. Peer coaching emphasises participatory techniques so graduates can steward union–management SHE committees ethically.

Could ICEOHS add a module comparing vendor-supplied SDS language with what operators actually translate on the tea lines? Nairobi pack-houses badly need bilingual hazcom posters.

Heat-stress calculators are useful—would be great if the certificate cited Kenyan work–rest thresholds explicitly for outdoor logistics crews.

Loved the audiometry refresher—is there Continuing Professional Development linkage with Kenya Occupational Health Society once we graduate?
